Charles Simonyi's donation, mediated by the Hungarian American Coalition

According to the press release issued by the Hungarian American Coalition on December 3, among other projects, the activities of the John von Neumann Computer Society will be supported with a donation of 50,000 US dollars. The Coalition will cover the source of the donation from the Charles and Lisa Simonyi Fund for the Arts and Sciences.

The background to this is that the Simonyi brothers visited Báthory Street in Budapest in June, where they viewed our School-Computer exhibition and discussed the NJSZT's heritage preservation activities, its past, and its future.

Naturally, the Simonyi brothers were already familiar with the NJSZT and our Computer Exhibition – The past of the future museum in Szeged.

We are very grateful! We strive to be worthy of the donor's intentions and person—serving talent development, enhancing the digital competencies of society, providing a professional forum, and especially preserving the IT heritage that is inseparably linked to the life and career of Charles Simonyi and his impact on the history of the personal computer, as well as the development of programming and applications!
